On May 17, 2019 the Memorandum between Sokhumi State University and "Georgian Culture Center in the Netherlands" was signed by Professor Zurab Khonelidze, the Rector of Sokhumi State University and the founder and Head of "Georgian Culture Center in the Netherlands" - Tinatin Svanidze-Venek.

According to the Memorandum, the parties will plan and implement joint cultural and scientific projects and events. It is noteworthy that the experience of fruitful cooperation between the SSU and the Georgian Cultural Center in the Netherlands already existed since October 2018, when Georgian Culture Center in the Netherlands organized in Hague and Amsterdam the event, dedicated to Abkhazia, in which Sokhumi State University under the leadership of its Rector Zurab Khonelidze took part. With the support of Tinatin Svanidze-Venek, the educational and informational meeting of Sukhumi State University and Amsterdam "University of Applied Sciences" was held in Amsterdam.
