On June 2-8, 2019, the Rector of Sokhumi State University, Prof. Zurab Khonelidze and Head of International Relations and Intercultural Connections Service, Prof. Indira Dzagania took part in the events related to the 30th anniversary of Bydgoszcz University of Economics (Poland), which involved partner universities from different European countries, international organizations and honorary doctors.

Rector Prof. Zurab Khonelidze and Prof. Indira Dzagania met with the President of Bydgoszcz University of Economics, Prof. Krzysztof Sikora, State Chancellor, Prof. Filip Sikora, the newly elected Rector, Prof. Marek Khamot, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Majena Sobchak, Pro-rector for Science, Prof. Wieslav Olshevsky, Director of the International Institute of Languages, Prof. Irene Irena Kudlisnka.

Rector of Sokhumi State University signed a document on the creation of consortium with partner universities on participation in new European projects.

Sokhumi State University and the Bydgoszcz University of Economics have a 7- year-long history of partnership, so the creation of this consortium will give new opportunities to both parties. For special contribution to the strengthening of existing contacts, intercultural relationship and education between two universities, Rector of Sokhumi State University, Professor Zurab Khonelidze awarded State Chancellor, Prof. Filip Sikora and Prof. Irene Cudlinska with the Honorary Diplomas.

In the framework of the program, Erasmus + Rector of Sokhumi State University Zurab Khonelidze delivered a lecture on “University Diplomacy” and prof. Indira Dzagania on "Intercultural Communications Opportunities in the Modern World". Within the framework of the event, the national cuisine of different countries was presented where Georgian cuisine was highly appreciated.

On June 7, the Rector, Prof. Zurab Khonelidze and Head of International Relations and Intercultural Connections Service, Prof. Indira Dzagania visited University of Finance and Management in Bialystok, with which the cooperation agreement in April of this year has been signed. At the meeting in which participated the Rector, Prof. Eduard Hoscilowics, Vice-Rector, deans, and heads of departments, the future plans were set. The Rector of Sokhumi State University Zurab Khonelidze delivered a public lecture on "University Diplomacy".

At the end of the visit, a meeting was held at the Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
