On 06.12. 2018 by the initiative of the Language Center, presentation of the program "Paid practice in Germany" was held at Sokhumi State University.

The program offers students paid practice in tourism industry in different parts of Germany for increasing the knowledge of German language. The basic condition for participation is the knowledge of German language only at A1-A2 level! The program provides free accommodation and meals in a high-budget hotel!

The Rector’s advisor in strategic issues Professor Vakhtang Antia welcomed the audience and spoke about the priorities of European education. The project was presented by the coordinator of the program, German language specialist Nana Edisherashvili, Senior Specialist at the Language Center of Sokhumi State University.

The students, former participants of the program: Giorgi Beruashvili, Lela Rusia and Lia Khvedelidze shared their experience to the audience.

The presentation was attended by the guests: President of European Languages ​​Institute Herald Christian Hornung, Program supervisor, Director of European Languages ​​Institute Thea Phetelava, Head of the Language Center of Medical University, Professor Nino Abralava, Head of the Language Center of Sokhumi State University, Professor Maya Daraselia, students and Academic Staff of the University.

At the end of the event, Rector's Advisor, Professor Vakhtang Antia and Director of the Program, Thea Phetelava thanked the Program Coordinator, Nana Edisherashvili and SSU Language Center for Contribution to the development of the Program.

In order to implement these kind of programs and to actively involve students, the Rector, Professor Zurab Khonelidze has decided to establish Certification Courses at the Language Center of the university - initially for teaching German and English languages.
